2018 HWF Trick or Trot for Preservation Results

Enjoy Wilmington’s unique heritage at historic Greenfield Lake Park and gear up for Halloween with Historic Wilmington Foundation’s family-friendly 5K and 1 Mile Candy Dash! This annual event challenges your costume creativity in new ways this year with prizes for Best Historic Building/Landmark, Best Moment in Time, Best Historic Person, and Best Historic Costume for Pets.

About the Cause

For 50+ years, Historic Wilmington Foundation (HWF) has been a leader in historic preservation throughout Wilmington and the Lower Cape Fear region. The nonprofit has saved hundreds of buildings, and also advocates and educates through programs like the Tar Heels Go Walking tour for New Hanover County Public School third-graders, and historic plaques, which share an ever-growing number of  home histories with locals and visitors alike. In 2015, Legacy Architectural Salvage was launched as a project of HWF, ensuring that architectural elements and vintage materials like wood floors, doors and windows stay out of the landfill and end up back in area homes and businesses.
